Love. Joy. Peace. These words should describe our Christmas festivities. Stress. Pressure. Anxiety. Tragically, these are often the words which capture the reality of this season for us. As we enter the season of Advent, we will consider some sections of Paul’s second letter to Corinth. We are going to discover “Advent-itudes”! These are the correct perspectives that indicate we are learning to live like Jesus in all seasons. There was once a family that was experiencing a very stressful Christmas. Overwhelmed and confused, the young daughter knelt to say the Lord’s Prayer before bed and exclaimed – “and forgive us our Christmases as we forgive those who Christmas against us.” Let’s not let this be said of us! Instead let’s allow the Holy Spirit to transform us with exciting new “Advent-itudes”!
