Have you been trained in CPR? Have you ever performed mouth to mouth resuscitation? Our new series, called “Face to Face” comes from two interesting verses. At the close of his second and third epistles, the apostle John used a phrase that literally means “mouth toward mouth”. Now, he was not talking about the “kiss of life” as in CPR. Rather, this phrase is more helpfully translated “face to face” in our Bibles. In II John 12 and III John 13-14 the apostle confessed that though he had much more to write. However, he thought it wise not to use more paper and ink but to meet with them “face to face”.
Be encouraged...fulfilling God's mission is possible...by His power and grace! When it comes God’s calling upon Cornerstone, we must practice in person, face to face ministry. Getting personally involved in the lives of brothers and sisters is part of a healthy congregation. Having personal, trust-building relationships with people is essential for sharing the Gospel. This January we are going to explore from John’s first letter and from the experience of a special guest, what it means to live and share the life of Jesus face to face!
During February, we continue this series with some important messages about leadership. If we are going to fulfill the mission which God has given to us, we need leaders who engage us in God's truth, enfold us into community, and equip us to do ministry.
