On May 18, 2018, our Senior Youth traveled to Sunnybrae Bible Camp on the Shuswap Lake for their annual youth retreat. May Camp is always a highlight for our group. It is an incredible weekend jam-packed with amazing games, worship, and preaching.
This year the camp did not disappoint, although we had a blast playing the games, it was incredible to see the students engaged in worship and to see them moved by the Holy Spirit. As leaders, our greatest blessing was to be reminded how powerful and alive God is, and how He is constantly transforming all of our lives.
Here is what some of our youth had to say about May Camp:
"I thought May camp was going to be boring, but I was wrong and I had a blast. Not only did I get closer with my friends, I also connected closer with God too. At camp I learned to be less selfish and also even when it's hard to see or hear God, God is always there." - Jake, Grade 12 Student
"Throughout high school, May camp has always been a highlight. It’s full of crazy games and important lesson. This year, however, a connection formed within our youth group that I’ve never witnessed before. We discussed different issues and deepened our knowledge and connection with God. I am sad that this was my last year but I am so grateful for the opportunity to go to events such as this and be supported by such amazing leaders.” - Rebecca, Grade 12 Student
Thank you to everyone who supported us through prayers while we were away. We look forward to taking the youth back to Sunnybrae next year.
