On Sunday April 30 it was announced that I would be taking the Interim Pastor position at Cornerstone. This is my opportunity to say "Thank You" to the Cornerstone Community for the privilege of being called your pastor. It is a title that both humbles me and excites me.
Ever since I was 20, I knew that God had a call on my life to serve the local church. This call has taken me on many adventures. I have met many wonderful people along this journey. It is exciting to think that I will get to know and serve the people at Cornerstone in the coming months.
In the past 12 weeks that I have been speaking at Cornerstone, I have noticed that the church is full of wonderful people. They welcomed my family and I in with open arms. They made meals for us when we had a newborn baby, they opened their homes to us when we needed friends, they encouraged us after church and prayed for us during a difficult season.
In the coming months, you can expect me to be providing leadership, care, and organization to the church. As you can already notice, there are some changes taking place in the community. This new website is one area that I thought needed some updating. There are other areas that I have been commissioned by the board to address. I will also be spending time with key leaders in the community in conversation about how to make Cornerstone more effective in its mission to reach the Albion community.
I pray every day that God would use me to further his kingdom, for the increase of his glory. It is an honour to get to do this at Cornerstone for the foreseeable future.
If you do not attend Cornerstone regularly, please feel free to join us this Sunday at 10:30 AM at Samuel Robertson Technical School. If you are a regular attender, I look forward to seeing you this weekend. If we haven't met, please do not hesitate to introduce yourself. I will be the one chasing my toddler around the cafeteria.
Finally, I covet your prayers for me and my family during this season. May God speak to and lead us all into a season of growth and fruitfulness.
