Have you ever thrown a pebble into a pond and watch the ripples extend out?  And it is amazing how far those ripples can reach!  When it comes to the impact of the Good News of Jesus Christ, there is also a ripple effect.  No where do we find a greater record of the expansion of the early church than in the book of Acts.  Often called “The Acts Of The Apostles” this record of the growing Body of Christ might also be titled “The Acts Of The Holy Spirit Through The Church”.

From Jerusalem, to Judea and Samaria, and finally to the ends of the earth we see the Gospel touching lives and bringing transformation.  In many instances, the book of Acts documents the amazing promise of Jesus in John 14:12:  “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, anyone who believes in Me as Savior will also do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these in extent and outreach, because I am going to the Father.” (AMPLIFIED)

You know, some of the factors in the first Century are not that different from issues in our contemporary Canadian society.  So let’s take a journey through the book of Acts and discover how God wants to continue to expand and grow His Church today.  Are you ready for His greater works?
